Very good Paul you are keeping it simple and to the spec, of (Course). I am in interface meltdown but will do a small post just now.
Nice Wiki. Just for clarification HTML and XML are derived from Structured General Markup Language (SGML). XHTML is derived from XML and is effectively an XML 'vocabulary' much like your useful animal classification example.
